The Lost World of Pompeii
Exploring the remains of the ancient city of Pompeii shot in S-Log on a Sony F55, onsite in Pompeii combined with green screen studio footage for CGI to bring to life stories and characters from the past. Digital Dimension in Canada created the CGI, with the final plates dropped into Baselight for the final grade with Colourist Kenny Gibb. Kenny created a mixture of looks to highlight the juxtaposition of ancient Rome vs how the city is today.
The online was completed in Symphony using the Baselight Editions plugin, with Julian Nelson and director Michael Wadding working closely to design a programme title to suit the show mixing old with new.
A dynamic sound design was required to bring to life the rebuilding of the city as well as give weight and depth to the extensive CGI.
Nag Kirinde built the original sound design using a combination of foley and library before finishing the audio mix in our Protools suite using the S6 Console.
