What is it
This ground-breaking series continues with a second instalment and three further operations as Nicky Campbell presents coverage of three stunning operations; a Father-to-Son Kidney Transplant, Corrective Spine Surgery and Brain Surgery – candid and uncompromising and all live.

What did we do
Full finishing post, Channel 5 and International delivery.

Look
Due to the fast paced nature of the project and possible changes to the narrative of the VTs there was a requirement for the addition of late changes within the finishing suites. To meet these requirements, Head of Picture, Julian Nelson performed the Online and Grade in Avid Symphony utilising the Baselight Editions toolkit which allowed a more intricate grade meaning no compromise in the look of the finished film.

Steve Cheshire, dubbing mixer kept the authentic and raw feel of the hospital on the VT’s by keeping the audio work to a minimum and using iZotope RX7 to clean up background noise generated by handling of the hospital equipment. Unlike series 1, each of the VT’s contained music, which needed to be carefully edited to end smoothly and create a seamless transition into the living holds and allow a clean link to and from the theatre.
